About Pinnacle Farms

Pinnacle Farms is 47 acres and is located at the Base of South Mountain as well as 3 other fields in Waddell under the White tanks. The historical orchard property in Laveen, came with a falling down 1934 adobe home, abandoned for many years prior. Now known as Pinnacle Farms South,  it became Certified Organic in 2015, and is re-developing into a wonderful fruit orchard with over 800 trees, including peaches and rare Maktoom Dates brought from Iraq in 1910 (which were one of the few living things left after the years of neglect.) In homage to Phoenix's agricultural past,  I replanted the citrus orchard in the front of the property with lemons, grapefruits and oranges.

Much of my work in the past few years has taken shape in the preservation of the desert Southwest's diversity.  Many varieties are uniquely perfect for our arid climate and offer tastes and textures most have never encountered in the grocery store. Some varieties, like the White Sonoran Wheat, Chapalote corn, Maktoom Dates and Rio Bavispe pinto beans have almost faded into the past, never to be seen again, but through my work I am bringing back availability of these seeds and finding new uses for them.

In addition to preservation, Pinnacle Farms West is also a sustainable vegetable farm located on 40 acres in the West Valley under the White Tanks Mountains. Divided into three farms, 2 of which are certified organic and all the farms are GAP certified for food safety and handling practices.  Pinnacle Farms can custom grow for you or email me for my current wholesale availability list.
